NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission is meeting next week to consider proposals to increase bag limits in early migratory bird hunting seasons.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and the Mississippi Flyway Council have recommended increasing the early wood duck and teal season daily bag limit from four to six, with no more than two wood ducks. Also recommended is adding teal-only hunting days to this season.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service approved the requests in late June. The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission will vote whether to approve the recommendation.
The conference call meeting will be at 11 a.m. CDT Aug. 1. Anyone wanting to attend or provide input should be seated at 11 a.m. in the main conference room of the agency's Nashville office or in offices in Jackson, Crossville or Morristown.
