(Nashville, TN) -- A plan to link teacher pay to yearly evaluations is being scrapped.

On Thursday, Metro Nashville Public Schools said they'll still move forward with changing the way they base pay on advanced degrees and how they reward teacher leadership. Director of Schools Dr. Jesse Register unveiled a pay proposal earlier this month that would have given four-percent annual raises to the teachers that scored a five on their TEAM evaluation.
