(Nashville, TN)  --  The Metro police officer accused of reporting to work drunk is resigning. 

Nathan Silvers submitted his notice on Monday, effective after he finishes his 30-day suspension.  Silvers was charged with DUI after he showed up to work Friday night with bloodshot eyes and alcohol on his breath.  One of Silvers' supervisors decommissioned for not arresting him has submitted his notice of retirement.
