Russian Scientists Say Real Life Jurassic Park Is Ten Years Away

Russian officials are laying out their plans to bring extinct animals back to life and believe that within just ten years they will be able to open a real-life version of Jurassic Park. While their version might not have a T-Rex, the researchers believe they will able to have woolly mammoths and other animals that roamed the planet tens of thousands of years ago.

The regional government in Yakutia, Siberia, where they have uncovered fossils in the permafrost that contain viable DNA, announced that it will support the scientists who are working to bring the ancient animals back to life. They plan to build underground laboratories where scientists will attempt to use elephants as surrogate mothers for the woolly mammoths.

The government is teaming up with scientists from South Korea and Japan and hope to start by cloning ancient horses that used to roam in Siberia, before moving onto the mammoths.
