Baltimore Mailman Delivered Marijuana On His Postal Route: Court Documents

USPS Delivery

A Baltimore postal worker pleaded guilty in federal court to charges of conspiracy to distribute over 100 kilograms of marijuana for his role in a plot to mail marijuana from California to Baltimore. Court documents state that William McRae worked with another man, Michael Gray, to intercept packages that were filled with marijuana.

Investigators discovered that over 200 suspicious packages were shipped from California to the same zip code in Baltimore. All of the parcels were supposed to be dropped off at homes along McRae's route. He would mark the packages as delivered but, instead, he would hold on to them and give them to Gray.

Many of the packages were mailed to 1100 Hollins Street by an unnamed co-conspirator in California. They would contact McRae ahead of time to let him know when the parcels were supposed to be delivered. He was paid in cash and marijuana for his help in delivering the illegal drugs.

McRae is facing up to 40 years in federal prison, while Gray, who also pleaded guilty, is looking at up to 20 years behind bars.
