Here's Who Is Eligible In Nashville's Next Vaccine Phase

On Thursday (March 4), Mayor John Cooper announced Nashville will move into Phase 1c of its vaccine rollout next week. Starting Monday (March 8), the city will begin offering vaccine appointments to several more eligible groups, including pregnant women and residents 16 and older with serious medical issues and high-risk health conditions.

According to FOX 17, the transition into Phase 1c means that an estimated 300,000 more Nashville residents will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine will be available to residents 16 and older with serious medical conditions, including chronic renal disease, COPD, moderate to severe asthma, obesity (with a BMI over 30), dementia, sickle cell, liver disease, and more. A full list of conditions can be found on the Tennessee Department of Health's website here.

In conjunction with the new phase, Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital Midtown will offer a vaccination clinic specifically for pregnant women on March 8, the news outlet reports. To register for the clinic, click here.

Counties under state-run health departments will transition to Phase 1c as well, FOX 17 reports. Tennessee Health Commissioner Dr. Lisa Piercey is excited by the news and hopeful for what it means for Tennessee.

"By the end of the month, it's plausible that we could be getting 300,000+ vaccines per week," said Dr. Piercey. "This thrills me."
