A Nashville man wanted in connection to the death of his brother was discovered by police hiding inside a trash can.
According to Metro Nashville Police, 23-year-old Rodale Lewis accused of fatally shooting his 15-year-old brother, Latherious Lewis, in the back after they got into a fight in Edgehill earlier this month. Since the teen was killed October 4 at a home on 11th Avenue South, the elder Lewis has been on the run, FOX 17 reports.
Police found the suspect in a black Lincoln MKZ in a parking lot off Dickerson Pike on Wednesday (October 13). A helicopter with the Tennessee Highway Patrol followed the car overhead for more than an hour until it came to a stop in a drug store parking lot on Harding Place. As officers tried to confront him, he used his vehicle to push past police cruisers to flee the scene.
THP continued to follow overhead, watching as he fled on foot in North Nashville, and officers eventually found him hiding inside a trash can and took him into custody.
During the course of the investigation, local law enforcement discovered Rodale Lewis was also wanted in Alabama for outstanding warrants, and he faces additional charges for being a fugitive.
Rodale Lewis is facing several charges, including criminal homicide, evading arrest, aggravated assault on a first responder for hitting occupied police vehicles, drug possession and being a fugitive from justice, per MNPD. He is being held in the Metro Jail without bond.
