Florida Mother Jailed For Refusing To Leave Hospitalized Daughter’s Bedside

What parent wouldn’t do exactly what Lynn Savage did.

Shame on the hospital, shame on the medical establishment and shame on us for allowing this crap to go on.

Lynn Savage was handcuffed and forced to spend the night in jail after refusing to leave her daughter’s bedside at UF Health North Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.

Her daughter is recovering from brain surgery after suffering from a stroke that left her non-verbal and paralyzed on her right side.

Savage says she was ordered to leave because ‘visiting hour’ were over. Of course, the visiting hour rules are “due to COVID”.

She refused.

She said, "the nurse said that the visiting hours were over at seven and I had to leave. And I said I'm not going to leave. I want to stay here with my daughter. Can you call the doctor because the doctor is the one that wanted me here with her? And she said no, that they couldn't do that. That COVID rules said that visiting hours were over at seven and I had to leave."

Savage is a retired deputy sheriff, so she knew she’d likely be arrested and she was ultimately handcuffed and forced to spend the night in jail.

Savage tells Action News Jax:

"I stand by my actions 100%. I am not sorry that I made them take me out of there in handcuffs...
I could not in good conscience and good heart leave her bedside not knowing how she was going to make it through the night voluntarily.”

Savage is facing trespassing charges and is expected to appear before a judge on Oct. 20.

She appeared on Tucker Carlson last night to tell her story:
