Gunman Kills Two Injures 19 Others In KY School Shooting

At least two people have died and 19 people were injured following a shooting at a Marshall County High School in Kentucky. WSMV, News 4 reports 14 people were treated for gunshot wounds, and 5 people suffered other injuries. Police say the shooter was a student and they have him in custody. He is being charged with murder and attempted murder.

The Lexington Herald Leader reports police found the pistol used in the shooting on the backside of the school.

The Marshall County Tribune-Courier posted a photo to their Facebook page, which shows the alleged shooter being escorted by police. The 15-year-old was apprehended by a deputy without incident. 

Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin confirmed the first fatality on Twitter moments after news of the shooting broke. 

"Tragic shooting at Marshall County HS…Shooter is in custody, one confirmed fatality, multiple others wounded…Much yet unknown…Please do not speculate or spread hearsay…Let’s let the first responders do their job and be grateful that they are there to do it for us…"
