Parents and students can now text and call safety tips for Putnam County

PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) -- The Putnam County school system has launched a tip line service to voice safety concerns.

The Herald Citizen reports that the school is now using SafeSchools Alert.

This program allows students, staff and parents to submit tips anonymously about what could be dangerous situations.

Tips can be called or texted to 833-370-0445, emailed or sent through their website.

The schools hopes that this will help deal with bullying, harassment, drugs or safety issues.
