RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. -- Rutherford County Schools is investigating a social media threat made against Riverdale High School on Thursday.
RCS spokesman James Evans says administrators at the school were notified late Thursday afternoon about a threat against the high school posted on social media.
Both the school district and police are "aggressively investigating the situation to hopefully determine the parties who are responsible for sending it," Evans said in a statement.
Evans adds in a note to parents, the situation is not being taken lightly.
