Mayor Considers Skipping Nashville Christmas Parade If Kid Rock Remains GM

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Nashville Mayor David Briley isn't "inclined" to participate if Kid Rock serves as grand marshal of the Nashville Christmas Parade as planned.

The parade is planned to start at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the corner of 1st Avenue North and Brandon Street.

Kid Rock's statement on "Fox & Friends" Friday morning has stirred controversy. The morning show, live from Nashville Friday morning, called Joy Behar a "b----."

Fox & Friends apologized on-air.

"If Kid Rock is still the grand marshal tomorrow, the mayor is inclined not to participate," the mayor's office said in a statement.

Councilman Freddie O'Connell also said he would not be participating in the parade over the choice of Grand Marshal.

"I will not be participating in tomorrow’s Nashville Christmas parade. The choice of Grand Marshal evokes neither the spirit of Christmas nor the inclusivity I think represents the best of Nashville."

Kid Rock urged Fox & Friends viewers to show tolerance for one another.
