Drunk Man Hits Drunk Friend's Car After She Crashes Into Ditch

As it turns out, two drunk drivers don't make a right. A man and woman were arrested in Nashville during the early morning hours of Thursday (March 4) on charges of driving under the influence after both drivers crashed their vehicles.

According to Scoop Nashville, 24-year-old Natasha Nancel had left Fox Bar in East Nashville shortly before midnight Thursday. As she was driving, she ended up crashing her car into a ditch along Cooper Lane, so she called a friend for help. However, when 30-year-old Melvil Arnt showed up, he also crashed his truck — right into her car.

Police were called to the scene after receiving a report of a vehicle stuck in a ditch, and when they arrived they noted that Nancel reportedly smelled of alcohol, Scoop reports. When asked, she told officers that she had two drinks at the bar before driving. She also said that she was looking at her phone prior to swerving into the ditch.

While on the scene, police spoke with Arnt, who admitted to drinking two beers before driving and striking Nancel's car. After administering breathalyzer tests, both parties blew over double the legal BAC limit, Nancel at 0.179 and Arnt at 0.191.

Nancel and Arnt were arrested and booked into the Metro Nashville jail where they each face a DUI charge.
