Humans aren't the only ones who can do tricks, as proven recently by a shark off the coast of South Carolina who seemingly tried to upstage a teen surfer from Tennessee.

The shark's moves were captured on video by Kaci Allen who was recording her 15-year-old son, Ethan, as he surfed off North Myrtle Beach on Friday (August 6), per Myrtle Beach Online. The family, which lives near Nashville, visits the Cherry Grove pier area a few times each year so Ethan can practice surfing.

"We've seen sharks in the water before, but never [captured] video of one; they're fast," Allen captioned the video, which she posted to YouTube. "Watch as the shark leaps overhead, just as Ethan pulls his feet onto the board."

Check out the video below.

According to the newspaper, experts believe it was a young spinner shark, common in South Carolina and not considered a threat to humans. Spinner sharks can grow up to 6 feet long and 120 pounds, but the shark in the video looks much smaller.

"This shark hunts by rapidly swimming upward into a school of fish while spinning and biting in all directions," Sciencing.com reports. "It often breaches the water surface and spins through the air, which is how it gets its name."
