As recovery efforts from recent flooding continues, people from across the country have stepped in to help. Earlier this week, Chris and Morgane Stapleton made a generous donation to the family of a pair of 7-month-old twins who were killed during the floods, and now a well-known actor is offering up assistance.
John Schneider and his wife, Alicia, are collecting emergency supplies to help the victims of the catastrophic floods that swept through Middle Tennessee on Saturday (August 21), FOX 17 reports.
Schneider has appeared in several TV shows and movies over the years, including portraying Clark Kent's father on Smallville and Bo Duke on Dukes of Hazzard. He is also familiar with how devastating floods can be after floodwaters washed through his Louisiana home and studio in 2016.
"We can so relate to the trauma of the floods," he said. "We are working on a large effort to help our friends in Middle Tennessee."
The Schneiders are setting up an 18-wheeler next week at the following locations in Middle Tennessee for people who wish to drop off emergency supplies:
- August 30: The Dunlap Mercantile (15664 Rankin Avenue in Dunlap)
- August 31: Conduit Church (1642 Lewisburg Pike in Franklin)
- September 1: Huckabee Theater at Trinity Music City USA (1 Music Village Boulevard in Hendersonville)
To help victims recover from the floods, needed supplies include: hygiene items, cleaning supplies, water, air mattresses, batteries, gloves, sunscreen, non-perishable food items, diapers, pet food, toilet paper, bandages, and more.
