A fight inside a Middle Tennessee middle school has led to concerns over a possible "fight week."

On Wednesday (November 10) morning, several students reportedly got into a fight at LaVergne Middle School. The brawl was caught on video and sent to FOX 17 with the request that the sender remained anonymous. The video can be seen here. Warning: The video depicts violence and may be disturbing to some viewers.

"Everyone was screaming and yelling," an eighth grade student told the news outlet. "There's been a lot of fights in the bathroom."

The uptick in violence has led to rumors of a "fight week" at the school where students who want to start a fight with someone this week will do just that. While the rumors have made some students and parents nervous, leaders for Rutherford County Schools don't believe the reports are credible. Regardless, officials told the news outlet that the principal planned to reach out to parents about the fight and to encourage students to report any concerns.

Reports of a potential "fight week" surfaced one week after another Nashville-area school was told to shelter in place after a reported threat on social media. Days before that, police investigated a potential social media threat against another school in the mid-state that ultimately was deemed not to be a threat.
