The Metro Nashville Police Department is introducing a plan aimed at addressing some traffic concerns that have been brought up members of the Metro Council. After a council resolution was introduced that would direct police to do more to monitor reckless and aggressive driving, MNPD says they have a plan that will at least get a start on keeping dangerous drivers in check. The department is planning to allow officers to sign up to earn extra overtime by agreeing to help with traffic enforcement. MNPD does say the council will need to approve some funding to make that happen though. They say they can start offering the overtime next month if the money comes through.
