Barbecue comes in many forms — ribs smoked for hours and slathered in sweet and smoky sauce, slow-cooked brisket covered in a flavorful dry rub, juicy pulled pork or shredded chicken perfect for crafting a delicious sandwich topped with slaw. Fortunately, there are plenty of incredible barbecue restaurants found all around the country that offer everyone the chance to dine on classic dishes.

According to a list compiled by LoveFood, the "best barbecue restaurant" in all of Tennessee was actually a tie: Peg Leg Porker in Nashville and The Bar-B-Q Shop in Memphis. Here's what the site had to say about the best "unmissable" barbecue in the state:

"The barbecuing at award-winning restaurant Peg Leg Porker is done by Carey Bringle, a legendary pitmaster with 30 years' experience under his belt — he's so good at his job that he's been asked to cook at The James Beard House twice. Top choices include dry-rubbed ribs, pulled pork, and Memphis sushi (a platter of kielbasa sausage, cheese, crackers, and white barbecue sauce)."
"There are countless brilliant spots in Memphis where you can tuck into the city's signature barbecue — but The Bar-B-Q Shop, originally Brady & Lil's Bar-B-Q Restaurant, is one of the very finest. The beloved joint is thought to have been the birthplace of barbecue spaghetti, a delicious dish of rich pulled pork in a tomato-barbecue sauce."
