The Jackson Police Department has successfully apprehended Austin Drummond, the suspect in a quadruple murder case. The arrest took place on Tuesday morning (August 5) after a "shelter in place" order was issued for residents near Bridlepath Drive and Saddlebrook Drive. Drummond, 28, was taken into custody at 9:15 a.m., ending a manhunt that began after he was spotted in Jackson, Tennessee, on Sunday (August 3).
The search for Drummond intensified following sightings in the area, prompting the Jackson PD to urge residents to check their security footage. This led to additional sightings of Drummond, who was reportedly seen knocking on doors while armed. As a result, the area was heavily monitored, and Pleasant Plains Road was closed from Country Club Lane to Oil Well Road.
Drummond is accused of killing James Wilson, Adrianna Williams, Cortney Rose, and Braydon Williams in Tiptonville, Tennessee, near Reelfoot Lake on Tuesday (July 29). The victims were found on Carrington Road, approximately 40 miles from where a seven-month-old girl, believed to be the child of two of the victims, was abandoned in a yard in Dyer County.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has charged several individuals in connection with the case. Dearrah Sanders, 23, of Jackson, was charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder. Tanaka Brown, 29, and Giovonti Thomas, 29, also from Jackson, face similar charges, with Brown additionally charged with tampering with evidence. The TBI's investigation revealed that Brown and Thomas assisted Drummond, though specific details have not been disclosed.
