Power crews are out in full force today as Nashville continues to dig out from the winter storm. Nearly 135,000 Nashville Electric Service customers are still without power this morning, though that number is down sharply from more than 230,000 outages Sunday night. Nearly 260 broken poles are slowing progress. More than 740 line workers are now on the job, which is far above normal staffing, and more help is on the way. NES says restorations are happening first where they help the most people, and reminds customers to make sure damaged equipment is repaired before power can safely come back on.

NES says there are currently many areas with outages of 1,000 customers or more, including:

• Brick Church/North Nashville

• Bellevue/West Nashville

• Hendersonville

• Elysian Fields

• Madison

• Rosebank/East Nashville

• Goodlettsville

• Forest Hills

• Brentwood
