The Boring Company is gearing up to start digging Nashville's Music City Loop, but crews are still waiting on five key permits. That includes the most critical one from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. The project, announced in the summer of 2025, aims to create a tunnel for Tesla drivers to travel from the airport to downtown, with plans for another tunnel from West End toward Nissan Stadium. The company says it needs 37 total permits to begin tunneling and 45 to fully operate.
