Michael Bailey has been a successful entrepreneur and executive in Nashville’s healthcare community for more than 35 years. With an an extensive background in public accounting, finance, operations, mergers & acquisitions and executive management he has founded or led a number of successful health care companies known for delivering outstanding care and superior financial results.
Since 2016, he has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of American Health Partners where he leads 4,100 employees across six divisions in eleven states. As the highest-ranking executive, Mike is responsible for overseeing overall operations, developing the company’s culture and mission, leading the executive team, board communications and implementing the company’s short and long-term strategic plans. American Health Partners is a national senior care company comprised of six divisions which include 29 senior living, skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers; five psychiatric care hospitals; a long-term care pharmacy; and two other divisions providing Medicare Advantage Institutional Special Needs Health Plans (ISNPs) and medical staffing in nursing homes in eleven states.
Prior to joining American Health Partners, Mike was a partner and co-founder of a number of highly successful Middle Tennessee health care startups, including Unity Physician Partners, where he served as President and CEO; Windsor Health Group where he served as President and CEO for ten years prior to its acquisition by Munich Health North America; MedSolutions (now Evicore) where he served as founder and Chief Operating Officer. He also served as the Chief Financial Officer for Vanderbilt’s health insurance company, VHP Community Care. In addition, he served as the chief financial officer of Coventry Health Care, a publicly traded managed care and insurance company. Mike began his career as a certified public accountant with Deloitte for more than 10 years.
