As reported at the NY Post, President Donald Trump keeps a campaign pledge after Dems disappoint Marijuana reformers after he keeps his promise to be the president of common sense.
President Trump on Thursday delivered the biggest federal policy win yet for marijuana reform advocates by signing an executive order to relax federal restrictions on the drug while touting its medicinal qualities.
The landmark order instructs the Justice Department to quickly move pot from “Schedule I,” the most restrictive Controlled Substance Act designation that includes heroin, to Schedule III alongside ketamine — but the change stops short of full legalization.
“I promised to be the president of common sense. That is exactly what we’re doing. This is really something having to do with common sense,” Trump said in the Oval Office.
